Mixed media art combines various materials and found objects to create unique, artistic pieces. This approach allows for personal expression while repurposing materials that would otherwise be discarded.
For this project, gather an assortment of materials such as scrap paper, old magazines, fabric remnants, wood, metal pieces, and any other found objects.
You’ll also need a canvas or sturdy backing board, glue, scissors, and paint (if desired). Start by brainstorming a theme or concept for your art piece. Arrange the materials on your canvas without gluing them down to visualize your design.
Once satisfied, adhere the materials using glue or a collage technique. You can also paint over or around the materials to enhance your composition. Allow your artwork to dry completely before displaying it. This creative outlet provides a way to express yourself while utilizing various upcycled items.
